Hybrid beings emerge as if sprouting from the monotype in the background of the paper. A clash between figuration and abstraction. A play of forces in which I seek to tension the boundaries between revealing and camouflaging the figure, and between the recognizable and the unexpected.
I am interested in deceiving the viewer’s eye, offering an initial seduction that is soon subverted by a sense of estrangement, as one notices the incoherent details that form these unexpected compositions.
